Terms of use

The deal between us

Last updated 23 October 2026

The short version. You must be 18 or over. Be honest, be kind, and follow our community standards. Your photos and words stay yours; you let us show them in braid. We can remove content or accounts that put people at risk. braid Plus is optional, billed by Apple or Google, and you can cancel any time in your app store. Nothing here takes away your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are

braid is provided by TODO: Company name Ltd (“braid”, “we”, “us”), registered in England and Wales (company number TODO: company number), at TODO: business address. Contact us at support@braiddating.com.

These terms, our community standards and our privacy policy form the agreement between you and us when you use the braid app and website.

2. Who can use braid

3. How to behave

Follow our community standards. In short: be kind and respect a no; respect people’s identities; be honest about yourself and your relationships; protect other people’s privacy; and never harass, threaten, out, scam or sell to anyone. Don’t break the law, and don’t try to break, overload, copy, scrape or get around braid’s safety features.

4. Your content

You own the photos, profile details and messages you add. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, process and show them as needed to run braid (for example, showing your profile to other members, or a reported message to a moderator). The licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we keep as described in our privacy policy (for example closed conversations kept for safety).

You confirm you have the right to share what you upload, and that people shown in your photos are happy to be shown. Don’t upload photos of other people without their agreement, and never of anyone under 18 except where they are incidental and in the background (we blur faces that look under 18).

5. Safety, moderation and enforcement

6. Meeting people

braid helps you meet people; we don’t run criminal record or identity checks on members, and we can’t guarantee anyone is who they say they are. Take care: meet in public, tell a friend where you’re going, and trust your instincts. If something happens, report it in the app and, if you’re in danger, call 999.

7. braid Plus

8. Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile, then Delete account). We may suspend or close accounts as described in section 5, or if we stop providing braid; if we stop providing braid altogether, we’ll give you reasonable notice.

9. Changes to braid and these terms

braid will change as we improve it. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.

10. Our responsibility to you

We provide braid with reasonable care and skill. We’re not responsible for how other members behave, on braid or when you meet them, though we’ll act on reports. We’re not responsible for losses that weren’t foreseeable, or for business losses (braid is for personal use).

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

11. Apple and Google

These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google, and we (not they) are responsible for braid and its content. If you downloaded braid from the App Store, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them; Apple has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for braid, and any claims about braid (including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property) are for us to handle, not Apple. You must also follow the app store’s own rules.

12. Disputes and law

If you have a problem, contact support@braiddating.com first and we’ll try to sort it out. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales, or, if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, in your local courts.
